Central Heights ISD Recognizes National Academic Award Recipients

Posted Date: 10/25/2022

Central Heights High School announced this week that six students have been named 2022 College Board National Recognition Program awardees. These recognitions highlight students' outstanding academic records, and achievement on the 2021 PSAT. This year marks the third year for Central Heights students to be recognized with these prestigious awards, and the 2022 class of recipients is the largest from CHHS in a single year.

The National Rural and Small Town Scholar Award was presented to Daisy Attaway, senior; Aanuoluwapo Odunuga, senior; William Sams, junior; and Paola Sifuentes, senior.

The National Hispanic Scholar Recognition Award was presented to Jason Baca, junior; and Paola Sifuentes, senior.

The National African American Scholar Recognition Award was presented to Aanuoluwapo Odunuga, senior.

The National Indigenous Scholar Award was presented to Ethan Krenek, senior.

The College Board National Recognition Programs seek to identify students of exceptional academic potential who represent historically under-recognized groups including minorities and students from rural and underserved areas. These students must score in the top percentage of test takers on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, and meet additional selection criteria through a significant application process.
